Castle Siege

The two-week Castle Siege cycle: registering, Signs of Lord, the battle for the crown and what the owner gets.

Castle Siege is the guild war for the castle in the Valley of Loren. Every two weeks the strongest guilds register, hand in Signs of Lord and storm the castle for two hours; the guild that holds the crown at the end runs the castle until the next siege. Castle Siege runs only on the Normal server. Every number on this page comes from the server's own files.

Registering

  1. Register (days 1–2)

The guild master talks to a Guardsman. Only a guild without an alliance, or the master guild of an alliance, can register; the owner's side cannot. There is no fee.

    Guardsman
  2. Hand in Signs of Lord (days 3–4)

Turn in Signs of Lord one at a time. Any monster can drop one, with a 1% chance. A guild that withdraws gets 3,000 zen back per Sign and cannot register again this cycle.

  3. Attackers chosen (day 5, 12:00)

Each guild scores 5 per Sign, plus 1 per member, plus a quarter of the master's level. The top three attack, each with its whole alliance. The castle owner and its alliance defend.

From the announcement until the battle ends, nobody can join or leave an alliance; during the battle nobody can join or leave a guild. If no guild registers, there is no battle and the owner keeps the castle.

The battle

  1. Break the Guardian Statues

Four statues with 1,500,000 HP guard the tower. Destroy all four and the tower barrier falls. Six Castle Gates (1,900,000 HP) block the way.

  2. Hold both crown switches

Attackers must stand on both switches beside the crown, within 3 steps, and both must be from the same side.

  3. Take the crown

The guild master of an attacking alliance master guild uses the crown and must not move. 60 seconds in total wins the round; time already spent is kept if the attempt is broken.

  4. Hold it until 22:00

A round win swaps the sides: the winners now defend. Whoever holds the castle when the battle ends at 22:00 owns it.

On the battlefield

Damage and death

Everyone can hit everyone, safe zones included. Hits on the enemy side do 40% of their damage, hits on your own side 20%. Registered players get no PK status and nobody suffers a death penalty during the battle.

Life Stone

An attacking guild master can raise one per guild (outside the tower area): 250,000 HP, heals allies nearby, and guild members respawn at it. Mix it from 1 Jewel of Chaos, 5 Bless, 5 Soul, 1 Guardian and 5,000,000 zen.

Siege skills

Usable only in the Valley of Loren and Land of Trials. Each needs a number of player kills since your last death, and using it spends them.

Owning the castle

Senior

The Senior

The guild master (and assistant for repairs) runs the castle from the Senior in the tower: set the chaos and shop tax (0–3%), withdraw the treasury, set the Land of Trials fee (up to 300,000 zen) and open it to the public, rebuy and upgrade gates and statues with Jewels of Guardian, and do the Lord Mix.

Owner perkDetails
TaxesChaos Machine and NPC shop tax go into the treasury; the owner alliance pays none
Land of TrialsFree for the owner alliance; others pay the fee when it is open to them. Erohim lives there
TowerThe owner alliance can enter outside the battle
Gates and statuesRebuy a gate for 9,500,000 zen, a statue for 4,500,000; upgrades raise HP and defense

Lord Mix

Once a day the owner's guild master can mix 30 Jewels of Bless and 30 of Soul (as bundles), 30 Jewels of Guardian and 1,000,000,000 zen. It never fails and gives an item with up to five excellent options:

Good to know

Allowed

  • Alliances of up to three guilds of at least 10 members each.
  • Respawning at your guild's Life Stone.

Not allowed

  • Using the crown switches before all four statues are down.
  • Hurting gates and statues outside the battle.
  • Castle Siege on Normal (NON-PVP).

Tips

  • Collect Signs of Lord all cycle long: they count five times as much as a guild member.
  • Break all four Guardian Statues first; the crown switches do nothing until they are down.
  • Your guild master must stand completely still on the crown. Keep the switches held and the enemy away from them.
  • Raise a Life Stone early so your guild respawns near the fight.
