Experience, party and drops
How fast you level on Kantru MU, what a party of up to 7 adds, and how the experience, items and zen of every kill are worked out, with the real numbers.
This page explains how Kantru MU calculates the experience, master experience, items and zen you get from a kill, what a party adds, and everything that changes them.
- Standard rate×100
- With no resets×100
- At the last reset×5
- Master experience×100
No experience event is running.
Experience from one kill
What a monster is worth
Every kill starts from the monster's kill value, which depends only on the monster's level and yours:
- 1
Start with (monster level + 25) × monster level ÷ 3.
- 2
If the monster's level + 10 is below your level, multiply by (monster level + 10) ÷ your level. Master characters count their level plus their master level here.
- 3
Monsters of level 65 and above add (monster level − 64) × (monster level ÷ 4).
- 4
Add a quarter: the kill value is the result × 1.25.
Monsters above your level give no extra bonus beyond their higher value, and there is no other level penalty. Some examples, before and after the starting rate of ×100:
| Monster level | Your level | Kill value | At ×100 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | 30 | 687 | 68,700 |
| 70 | 70 | 2,897 | 289,700 |
| 100 | 100 | 6,332 | 633,200 |
| 142 | 300 | 8,417 | 841,700 |
| 170 | 400 | 11,780 | 1,178,000 |
| 170 | 400 + 300 master levels | 9,116 | 911,600 |
Who gets it
- Solo
Everyone who hit the monster gets a share of the kill value equal to the share of its HP they took off.
- Party
If the killing blow comes from a party member, the whole kill goes to that party and is shared as described under Party experience in detail. Players outside that party who also hit the monster get nothing.
- One level per kill at most
If a kill is worth more than the rest of your level, you gain one level and the extra experience is lost. At ×100 this happens at low levels: a level 100 character needs 314,920 experience for the next level, and a level 100 monster is worth 633,200.

The order everything is applied in
- 1
Your share of the kill value. In a Blood Castle, monsters give half.
- 2
× the server rate for your reset count (the table above), plus any map bonus.
- 3
× 1.5 during the Bonus Event.
- 4
Plus your VIP bonus.
- 5
× your item and buff bonuses (seals, pets, rings), with the extra step described below.
- 6
Limited to one level, as above.
So the boosts multiply each other: a Diamond VIP in the Bonus Event with a Seal of Wealth gets ×1.5 × 1.5 × 2.4 = ×5.4 the normal experience of the same kill.

The VIP bonus is the same day and night. A fourth tier, Platinum, exists on the server with 40 hours of offline levelling and no experience bonus, but it is not sold in the shop. See VIP tiers and benefits for prices.
Bonus Event
Four times a day, from 02:00 to 04:00, 08:00 to 10:00, 14:00 to 16:00 and 20:00 to 22:00 server time, experience and master experience are multiplied by 1.5 for everyone. Item and excellent drops go up too (see below). See the Bonus Event page for the countdown.
Maps
The four Doppelganger maps add 2 to the server rate: ×102 instead of ×100 with no resets, but ×7 instead of ×5 at 90 resets or more.
Monsters inside a Blood Castle give half experience.
No other map has an experience bonus or penalty.
Seals, pets and rings
| Item | Experience | Who it works for |
|---|---|---|
| +50% | Normal characters | |
| +100% (and +150% item drops) | Normal characters | |
| +50% (and 5% life recovery) | Normal characters | |
| +50% | Master characters | |
| +100% (and +150% item drops) | Master characters | |
| Stops all experience | Everyone | |
| +50% | Everyone | |
| +30% | Everyone | |
| +50% more | Everyone | |
| +30% | Everyone | |
| Glory of Gladiator (won in a duel) | +20%, in Vulcanus only | Normal characters |
The rings add nothing on their own; they need the Panda or Skeleton pet. Black, Blue and Gold Fenrirs give no experience.
Seal of Ascension, Seal of Wealth and Seal of Sustenance cannot be used together. Seal of Healing (or Seal of Divinity) is a separate group, so it stacks with one of them.
You have one pet slot, so Panda, Skeleton and Fenrir rule each other out.
A master character gets nothing from the normal seals on their own. While a master seal is active, a normal seal adds to it. The other way round, a master seal on a character who is not yet a master cancels all seal bonuses, so do not use one early. Second-class characters cannot buy master seals in the Cash Shop.
On top of the experience bonuses in the table, the server adds 10% more for every started 50% of their total, up to 15 steps. This step is for experience only: item drop and zen bonuses get none. The Horn of Fenrir counts toward the total but not toward this step.
| Item and buff bonus | You actually get |
|---|---|
| +30% (Pet Skeleton) | ×1.43 |
| +50% (Seal of Ascension, or Pet Panda) | ×1.65 |
| +80% (Pet Skeleton with its ring) | ×2.16 |
| +100% (Seal of Wealth, or Pet Panda with its ring) | ×2.40 |
| +150% (Seal of Wealth and Seal of Healing) | ×3.25 |
| +200% (Seal of Wealth, Pet Panda and Panda Ring) | ×4.20 |
| +250% (Seal of Wealth, Seal of Healing, Pet Panda and Panda Ring) | ×5.25 |
| +130% (Seal of Wealth and Horn of Fenrir) | ×2.76 |

Seals, pets and rings are sold in the Cash Shop. From the next client release, their in-game descriptions show these effective values in %.
Not available on Kantru MU
The server code also knows a Party EXP Scroll, the Arca Battle tower blessings, the Talismans of Ascension and the Blessing of Light. None of them can be obtained on Kantru MU at the moment, so they are not part of any of the numbers on this page.
Shadow Phantom Soldier
The Shadow Phantom Soldier stands in Lorencia, Devias and Noria. Talk to the soldier for a buff that raises your attack and defense while you level.
The buff is for characters up to level 400, 3rd class included.
It is only for characters with up to 4 resets. From the 5th reset on, the soldier answers You can now stand alone without my support.
Tips
The experience boosts multiply: rate, Bonus Event, VIP and items. Save your seals for the Bonus Event windows.
At low levels a kill already gives a whole level, so boosts only start to matter once a level needs more than one kill.
Stay within 10 steps of the monsters your party kills: a member further away gets none of the experience and does not count towards the party bonus.
Turn on Open party in the MU Helper to fill a party while you hunt, or Gold party to fill it with the classes it still lacks.
Fairy Elves still need arrows or bolts equipped, but they are no longer used up, so one stack lasts.
Do not use a Seal of Sustenance by mistake: it stops all experience while it lasts.
For zen, a Panda Ring (×1.5) beats a Pet Unicorn (+15%), and they don't stack. Add a Topaz Ring for +60%.
How resets work: Resets.Drop rates: see the item list for what each monster drops.
